A Digital Experience Agency

Redonkian Spotlight: Blanca

Hi, I’m Blanca! I’m a native Houstonian transplanted to the beautiful and somewhat forgotten countryside of North Texas. My home base will always be our little farm outside the big city, but the immense need for new experiences has taken me and my wife all over the world. I love meeting new people, trying new foods and learning about different cultures. That in part is what I enjoy most about working at Redonk. Here, I am a Digital Project Manager and have the pleasure to work with not only a kickass team of crazy talented people, but I also get to meet and collaborate with some pretty awesome clients too! Whether it’s playing a role in helping launch a new initiative or exploring new food dishes to try at our team lunches, helping create memorable experiences is my jam.

Here’s a little bit more about me:

Favorite beer or wine? Staying true to my Hispanic roots, I will never pass up an ice-cold Modelo Especial with a lime wedge. Listen to me…it is not complete without the lime wedge!

Favorite vacation spot? I feel like this could vary depending on what season you’re going for, but Europe and Thailand have never let me down. Is it beautiful there? Absolutely, but y’all know it’s really about the food, right?!

Best TV show of all time? I honestly can’t pick one show. I’m a sucker for a well-written story so I can get sucked into almost anything. However, Abbot Elementary and The Great British Bakeoff are my comfort shows, I can watch them on repeat or when I just need noise.

Favorite movie? I don’t feel like I can just pick one, so here are a few that I can absolutely recite word-for-word: Sister Act, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, [Insert Animated Disney Movie here], You’ve Got Mail, Pride & Prejudice

Is there a book, movie or TV show that has made a significant impact on you? “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*@%”, by Mark Manson. I’ve read several amazing books, but this one spoke to me specifically.

You’ve committed a serious crime like putting dirty dishes in the sink and are sentenced to death. What would your last meal be? Mango habanero buffalo wings with a side of ranch, all flats. That last part is super important! …is it also weird that I actually like washing dishes?

If you could have dinner with 3 people, living or dead, who would you dine with?

  1. My Abuela (grandmother), so I can show her that I finally learned how to speak Spanish!
  2. Robin Williams, I mean he could basically do impressions of all the people that didn’t make the top three cut….loopholes.
  3. Anthony Bourdain, I need to know his opinion on some food things…

How do you drink your coffee? Yes.  Coffee is more of a food group for me, I think the only kind I’m not a big fan of is Nitro coffee. Everything else is fair game, but I do like to match my coffee temperature to the season: cold coffees in the summer and hot coffees when it’s cool outside.

If you could do one thing other than work for Redonk, what would it be? If I could do one thing other than working for Redonk, I’d probably open a bar or flip houses. I love me some good manual labor and creating spaces where people can have a great time and make memories together.

Favorite concert you’ve been to? My favorite concert that I’ve ever been to was the Blink-182 and Lil’ Wayne tour in Dallas back in 2019. It hit all the nostalgia feels of my early 20’s and my buddy hooked us up with VIP passes. It was a night to remember…kinda!
